Day 3, Dec 18: Ulm, Liechtenstein, Zermatt

Got off to good start in morning . . .  Stopped for walk around Liechenstein

the two princesses

The king and queen

The royalty live in the castle on the bluff . . .

So,  Sygic, "the most advanced internet navigation app" took us this cool route, 19, through Sedrun, over Oberalp pass and we were tooling along with about three hours to go when we came to this barricade across the road . . .  funny thing, the road is closed in winter !  Hah!

So we backtracked and searched and stopped at about three railroad stations till we found the station at Realp and got our little buggy on the train and then after about 1/2 train ride and another 1.5 hours of driving, we got to Tasch, got a van at Cristophe's garage --cooool, huried to get the sleeping babes into the van and out of the cold . . .  then another transfer of us and baggage into an electric taxi for a couple of miles (25 CH francs) and finally to our apartment, arriving about 8:30 p.m.

All were well and the granddaughters were both troopers, having Triscuits  and Cheetos for dinner . . .
Justin and I got some overpriced pizza and got home about 10:00 p.m., having been forced to have a beer while we were waiting for the pizzas to arrive.
